All my collars are made to measure and will be crafted especially for your dog.
Only with precise measurements your new collar will fit perfectly.
So please take time when you measuring your dog.
For an adjustable buckle collar:
(C) The neck circumference
Please measure approximately in the middle of the neck. Preferably a bit above the middle than below. Please measure close fitting but not constricting. There should be left no finger width between the tape measure and the neck. If you prefer the collar to be loose, please add 0.5 – 1 cm. Please keep in mind that the collar will be adjustable for 2 holes (3 cm) wider and tighter.
The collar will be crafted to have your measurement (C) as its inner circumference when it is closed in the mid hole.
For a non adjustable martingale style collar:
(A) The head circumference
The Head circumference has to be measured at the biggest point of the head, so that you will be able to slip the collar over the head.
Please measure close fitting but not constricting. There should be left no finger width between the tape measure and the head.
To allow the collar moving smoothly over the head and not being blocked by the ears, please add 0.5 cm to your measurement. For dogs with very large ears you can also add 1.5 cm.
In the maximal opened state, the collar will have your measurement as its inner circumference. (Head circumference (A))
(B) The smallest neck circumference
Please measure directly behind the ears. Please measure close fitting but not constricting. Please do not add anything to this measurement.
In the completely tightened state, the collar will have your measurement as its inner circumference (smallest neck circumference B).
While measuring, your dog should stand upright. Do not measure your dog in a lying position.
Please use only a flexible tape measure!
Do not measure the length of your old collar! That measurement does not coincide with the actual neck circumference and the new collar would not fit.
